New details have emerged regarding the death of actress Michelle Trachtenberg, nearly two months after she was found dead in her New York City apartment. The NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner has amended her cause of death to "complications of diabetes mellitus," E! News confirmed on April 16.
Diabetes mellitus is a condition characterized by high blood glucose levels due to insufficient insulin production or ineffective insulin use, according to the Cleveland Clinic. After reviewing the original autopsy results, the medical examiner also ruled her manner of death as natural.
Trachtenberg was found dead in her home on February 26 after officials responded to a 911 call. Initially, her cause of death was ruled as "undetermined" due to family objections to a full autopsy, according to People.
