Three individuals have been cleared of charges related to the death of former One Direction member Liam Payne, who died on October 16, 2024, after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires. Initially, five people were charged, including hotel staff and Payne's friend, Roger Nores.
Nores, initially charged with manslaughter, has had the charges dropped. The judges ruled that he wasn't responsible for Payne's alcohol or drug consumption and couldn't have prevented the death. Similar rulings cleared two hotel staff members of reckless conduct.
Waiter Braian Nahuel Paiz and employee Ezequiel David Pereyra remain in custody and will face trial for allegedly supplying Payne with drugs. Nores has also launched a lawsuit against Payne's father, Geoff Payne, for alleged defamation.
