In a candid interview with E! News on October 10, Christine Brown, 52, shared her struggles regarding her children's relationship with their father, Kody Brown, 55. Reflecting on the challenges of parenting amidst familial tensions, she expressed her desire for her kids to have a positive connection with Kody, stating, 'It's devastating to have your kids have daddy issues.'
Christine's comments followed a recent episode of TLC's show where Kody confronted their daughter Madison for allegedly spreading 'gossip.' Janelle Brown, Kody's former wife, added that Madison's situation is just one example of how their children feel distanced from their father. 'He has really distanced himself from them,' Janelle noted.
Further complicating matters, Janelle revealed that Kody has not seen her daughter Savanah, 19, in over a year. Savanah has learned to keep her relationship with her father at a 'superficial' level, finding solace in her older brothers during Kody's absence.
The family dynamics have been strained since Kody's spiritual divorces from Christine, Janelle, and Meri. In the latest episode, Kody lamented his estrangement from his adult children, claiming they are 'purposefully leaving' him out of their lives. He attributed this to their resentment towards him for not being 'madly in love' with their mothers.
Christine, who left the polygamous marriage in November 2021, emphasized that both she and Janelle are now living their 'best lives.' As Christine embarks on a new chapter with her husband David Woolley, she expressed excitement for the future, stating, 'It's nice to start over again.'
Janelle echoed these sentiments, highlighting their newfound independence and the joy of creating new lives for themselves post-split.
