Janelle Brown, former star of Sister Wives, is embracing her newfound independence after leaving her spiritual marriage with Kody Brown in early 2022. Brown, who now resides near her daughter in North Carolina, expressed her gratitude for the freedom to create a home that reflects her individual desires.
In a recent blog post, she highlighted the stark contrast between her current life and the constraints of a polygamous household, where decisions were often subject to committee approval and Kody's preferences. "Everything had to go through some kind of committee decision... There were other voices to consider, other needs to meet, and resources to share," she wrote.
Brown emphasized the liberating experience of making choices without needing to justify them to others. This move was partially motivated by the tragic death of her son, Garrison, in March 2024, which prompted her to relocate closer to family. She concluded, "For the first time, I get to figure it out without worrying about anyone else's opinion... completely mine."
