The world's largest pop culture festival, CCXP 2025, is set to take place at the São Paulo Expo from December 4th through the 7th. This year's event reinforces its commitment to broadening its content scope beyond the traditional realm of 'geek culture.' Beto Fabri, the Vice President of Content, highlighted that the program for this 12th edition mirrors current entertainment trends by skillfully blending major blockbuster features with films vying for prestigious accolades like the Oscars and Emmys.

A major highlight of the festival will be the appearance of actor Timothée Chalamet, scheduled for December 5th. The Hollywood star is making a special trip to Brazil to unveil his latest feature film from A24, titled 'Marty Supreme,' directed by Josh Safdie. Chalamet personally insisted on including the Brazilian leg in the promotional tour, acknowledging the deep loyalty of the local fanbase. The movie, which is based on the autobiography of renowned table tennis player Marty Reisman, is already generating significant buzz regarding potential nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards. The US theatrical premiere is slated for December 25th, 2025, with the Brazilian debut following shortly after on January 8th, 2026.

'Marty Supreme' is described as a sports comedy-drama. Chalamet not only takes the leading role but also serves as a co-producer on the project. Josh Safdie co-wrote the screenplay alongside Ronald Bronstein. The narrative transports audiences to 1950s New York, focusing on the ambitious young Marty Mauzer as he strives for greatness in a sport that is often overlooked. With a reported budget ranging between 60 and 70 million dollars, this film has become A24's most expensive production ever, surpassing 2024's 'Civil War.' The ensemble cast features Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’Zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okomo, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher alongside Chalamet.

CCXP 2025 will also shine a spotlight on other significant figures in pop culture. The participation of Misha Collins, widely recognized for portraying the angel Castiel in the series 'Supernatural,' has been confirmed. Collins will be part of a special 'Road to Hell' event on Sunday, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the iconic show, which originally premiered on September 13th, 2005. It is anticipated that other cast members, including Jim Beaver, will also be present for the milestone celebration.

The festival continues to mature into a robust business ecosystem while retaining its creative heart in the 'Artists' Valley,' which hosts over 350 tables and features 500 artists. This year introduces a novel panel format called 'Blast Pitch.' The musical lineup has also been bolstered, with the Brazilian band Fresno confirmed as the closing headliner for CCXP25. Reflecting the industry shift from cinema to streaming content, the cast of 'The Boys' will take the stage on Saturday, December 6th, for a discussion about the second season, featuring Erin Moriarty and Colby Minifie.

Pierre Mantovani, CEO of Omelete Company, commented that the event's current programming resembles the homepage of a major streaming service. In addition to the international talent, Brazilian culture will be duly celebrated. Selton Mello will be honored as a special guest, receiving an award recognizing his 'contribution to national culture' across his distinguished career as an actor, director, and voice artist.
