Prime Video has officially confirmed the global premiere window for Spider-Noir, a highly anticipated live-action series that reimagines the iconic web-slinger within a gritty, alternate-history framework. Slated for a worldwide debut in the spring of 2026, the project is a collaborative effort between Sony Pictures Television, Prime Video, and MGM+. This adaptation is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first time Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage will take on a leading role in a television production. The series is expected to lean heavily into the dark, atmospheric aesthetics of the original comic books, providing a stark contrast to the more vibrant iterations of the character seen in recent cinematic outings.

Reilly is a man haunted by a profound personal tragedy, which eventually forces him to don his mask once again and return to the dangerous life of a vigilante. While Cage previously voiced a version of this character in the acclaimed animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, this series offers him the opportunity to fully realize the character in a live-action, physical performance.

Lamorne Morris portrays Robbie Robertson, a tenacious journalist who isn't afraid to pursue high-stakes stories in the corrupt environment of 1930s Manhattan. Brendan Gleeson stars as the notorious mob boss Silvermane, a character who becomes the target of multiple assassination attempts, a situation that inadvertently pulls Reilly into a much larger and more dangerous conspiracy than he initially anticipated. Nicolas Cage himself played a significant role in shaping the show's aesthetic; he revealed that the option to watch the series in monochrome was his own suggestion. Cage was deeply inspired by the classic noir films of the 1940s and the legendary performances of Humphrey Bogart, and he wanted to provide a way for the audience to experience that same timeless, cinematic atmosphere.

Spider-Noir will consist of eight episodes, a structure designed to provide a tight and compelling narrative arc.
