Netflix Announces September 2025 Slate Featuring "Wednesday" Season 2 and Del Toro's "Frankenstein"

Netflix is set to launch a diverse slate of new and returning series and films in September 2025.

The highly anticipated second part of "Wednesday" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on September 3rd. Following this, Steven Knight's historical drama "House of Guinness" will debut on September 25th. The crime drama "Black Rabbit," starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman, is set for release on September 18th, and the animated horror-comedy "Haunted Hotel" will be available on September 19th.

Cillian Murphy stars in the drama "Steve," which will be available on Netflix starting October 3rd, after a theatrical release on September 19th. Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of "Frankenstein" will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on August 30th, followed by a limited theatrical release on October 17th, and its global debut on Netflix on November 7th. The South Korean thriller "Good News," inspired by a 1970 hijacking, will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 5th, with its Netflix release slated for October 17th.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will celebrate its 50th edition from September 4th to 14th, showcasing a wide array of Canadian and international cinema. Similarly, the 82nd Venice International Film Festival will run from August 27th to September 6th, presenting a curated selection of global films. These festivals serve as significant platforms for cinematic discovery and artistic expression, setting the stage for the diverse content arriving on Netflix throughout the fall.
