Venice Film Festival 2025 to Feature Films on Kremlin and Gaza Tragedy

The 82nd Venice International Film Festival, scheduled from August 27 to September 6, 2025, will showcase two highly anticipated films: "The Kremlin Director" and "The Voice of Hind Rajab." Artistic director Alberto Barbera has highlighted "The Voice of Hind Rajab" as a profoundly moving work that is expected to leave a significant impact.

"The Kremlin Director," directed by Olivier Assayas, is a political thriller based on Giuliano da Empoli's novel. The film stars Jude Law as Vadim Baranov, an advisor to Vladimir Putin, who is also portrayed by Law. The cast also includes Alicia Vikander and Tom Sturridge. The narrative explores the complex political landscape of the late Soviet Union and the early Russian Federation.

"The Voice of Hind Rajab," directed by Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, tells the true story of six-year-old Hind Rajab, who died with her family in Gaza in 2024. The film focuses on her communications with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society amidst the tragic events. The film has been nominated for the Golden Lion award.

Both films have been recognized for their contemporary relevance and compelling storytelling, offering audiences insights into recent global events. The festival aims to showcase films that engage with critical contemporary issues, fostering a deeper understanding of the human experience.
