Jason Momoa's 'Chief of War' Premieres August 1, 2025 on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has unveiled a first look at Jason Momoa's highly anticipated series, 'Chief of War.' This historical drama, co-created by Momoa and Thomas Pa'a Sibbett, tells the story of Ka'iana, a Hawaiian warrior who strives to unite the islands in the late 18th century before Western colonization.

Momoa not only stars as Ka'iana but also serves as a writer and directs the season finale of the nine-episode series. The series is set to premiere on August 1, 2025, with the first two episodes available immediately and new episodes released weekly until September 19, 2025.

The cast includes Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, and a host of actors with Polynesian heritage, ensuring an authentic portrayal of the era. Hans Zimmer composed the main title theme, adding to the show's epic scope. 'Chief of War' promises to deliver a significant narrative of Hawaiian history from the perspective of its people.
