This announcement pertains to a new feature-length installment that will serve as a direct sequel to the 2023 Netflix movie, Luther: The Fallen Sun. Crucially, this highly anticipated project is set to bring back key figures from the franchise's history. Ruth Wilson will return as the enigmatic Alice Morgan, while Dermot Crowley is slated to appear once more as Martin Schenk. The original BBC television series, which cemented Luther's reputation, aired across five successful seasons between 2010 and 2019.

The narrative arc of the upcoming film is expected to center on Luther's clandestine re-entry into active service. He must confront a fresh spate of savage and apparently motiveless killings that are gripping London with fear.
