YEA Inaugurates Fashion Training Center for People with Disabilities in Kumasi, Ghana - 2025

The Youth Employment Authority (YEA) has launched The Make Fashion Inclusive Training Centre in Kumasi on May 29, 2025. This initiative aims to provide fashion and entrepreneurial skills to approximately 100 individuals with disabilities.

The training encompasses embroidery, beading, and metal works. Trainees will receive the necessary tools to establish their own businesses and contribute to community development through employment opportunities.

This program, a collaboration between Germany Development Cooperation and YEA, seeks to empower Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) within Ghana's fashion sector. The initiative is part of the Invest for Ghana vision, focusing on creating sustainable opportunities for individuals living with disabilities.

The Ashanti Regional Director of the YEA emphasized the government's belief in the potential of persons with disabilities. The YEA remains committed to generating sustainable employment opportunities, ensuring inclusivity for all unemployed youth.
