Victoria's Secret to Hold First-Ever Open Casting Call for Fashion Show
Edited by: Katerina S.
Victoria's Secret, which is currently undergoing a brand transformation, has announced its next fashion show for fall 2026, tentatively scheduled for October. For the first time, the company has decided to hold an open casting call to select its "Angels," making the selection process accessible to the general public. This move is part of a broader strategy to redefine the brand’s image by moving away from outdated beauty standards and emphasizing inclusivity and authenticity, following years of public criticism.
The chosen participant will earn a spot on the 2026 runway along with an exclusive contract with IMG Models. Registration opened on April 6 and will continue until May 28, 2026, featuring in-person auditions at four shopping centers across the United States. The brand is prioritizing personal traits, such as confidence and alignment with its current philosophy, over prior professional modeling experience. IMG Models has clarified that no application fees or lingerie photos are required during the initial submission stage.
The entire selection process, from the first applications to the winner’s ultimate runway moment, will be documented in an upcoming documentary series set to premiere after the show.
In the 1990s, the brand’s strategy centered on collaborations with world-famous models like Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum, an era that management now acknowledges lacks cultural relevance today. The brand faced widespread criticism for promoting unrealistic beauty standards. The 2026 show is expected to feature a harmonious mix of established icons and new faces, marking an evolution designed to rebuild consumer trust.
The company is working to turn this renewed attention into sustainable demand by focusing on authenticity and modern consumer values. The success of this repositioning will ultimately depend on the brand's ability to maintain consistency in both its inclusivity and product quality.
