Säntis Textiles Advances Sustainable Textile Recycling with RCO100 Technology

18:04, 01 August

Edited by: Екатерина С.

Säntis Textiles, a Swiss company specializing in sustainable textile solutions, has developed the RCO100 technology, a mechanical recycling process that transforms cotton waste into high-quality fibers without the use of water or chemicals. This method preserves the original structure of the cotton fibers, resulting in yarns that maintain the authentic feel of natural cotton.

In January 2025, Säntis Textiles, in collaboration with Italian yarn producer Marchi & Fildi, presented a knitwear collection at Pitti Filati in Florence. Designed by students from Biella, the collection utilized RCO100 Cento, a 100% recycled cotton yarn, showcasing the potential of recycled materials in high-quality fashion products.

In March 2025, Säntis Textiles partnered with ISA Sallmann and E. Schellenberg Textildruck to launch an exclusive loungewear collection made entirely from RCO100 recycled cotton. This collaboration highlights the growing trend of businesses aligning with eco-conscious values, creating a ripple effect of positive change within the industry. The partnership with FibreTrace, announced in August 2024, further enhances the traceability of RCO100 products. This transparency builds consumer trust and fosters a deeper connection between individuals and the origins of their clothing. This move reflects a broader shift towards accountability and ethical practices in the fashion world.

The RCO100 technology aligns with a larger movement toward circular economies, where materials are continuously reused, reducing the need for new resources. Säntis Textiles' initiatives are not just about recycling; they are about creating a more resilient and harmonious system. The company's commitment to innovation and strategic partnerships serves as a beacon, illuminating the path toward a future where the textile industry operates in balance with the planet. The company's actions inspire a sense of hope, demonstrating that positive change is achievable through conscious choices and collaborative efforts. The focus on transparency and traceability empowers consumers to make informed decisions, fostering a deeper appreciation for the journey of their clothing from waste to wardrobe. This approach reflects a shift towards a more conscious and interconnected world, where every choice has the potential to create a positive impact.
