Nike and Jacquemus Collaborate on Iconic Moon Shoe Reimagining

Edited by: Екатерина С.

Nike and French fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus have joined forces to present a reimagined version of the iconic Nike Moon Shoe. This collaboration merges Nike's athletic heritage with Jacquemus's signature minimalist style, offering a contemporary take on a legendary design.

The original Moon Shoe, created by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman in 1972, was revolutionary for its waffle sole, inspired by a waffle iron, which provided enhanced traction on new running tracks. The reimagined model features a sleek, low-profile silhouette with a ruched nylon upper and a Nike Grind outsole, reflecting Nike's commitment to sustainability through its Nike Grind initiative launched in 1992.

The distinctive release will be available in three colorways: Alabaster, Off Noir, and University Red. An initial exclusive launch is scheduled for September 29, 2025, at Jacquemus boutiques and online. A wider global release will follow on October 6, 2025, through Nike SNKRS and select Nike retail locations worldwide.

Actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez, known for his roles in "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story," embodies the spirit of this collaboration in the campaign, symbolizing the intersection of athletic dynamism and high fashion. The historical significance of the original Moon Shoe is underscored by a 1971 pair that fetched $437,500 at auction, highlighting its iconic status in sneaker culture.
