Francesco Risso is leaving his position as Creative Director of Marni, according to reports from Vogue and other sources. The fashion house has not yet named a replacement.
Risso, an Italian designer, took the helm at Marni in 2016, succeeding Consuelo Castiglioni. He oversaw the brand's collections from the Fall/Winter 2017 season through the Fall/Winter 2025 collection.
Risso's fashion education included studies at the Polimoda Institute in Florence, the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and Central Saint Martins. His experience includes working with designers like Anna Molinari and Alessandro dell'Acqua, and a nearly decade-long tenure at Prada.
During his time at Marni, Risso emphasized experimental design, viewing it as a complete art form. A notable event was the brand's first fashion show in Japan in 2023. A collaboration with Uniqlo in 2022 also gained significant attention in Japan.
The fashion world is awaiting news regarding the brand's future.
