Mango: initiatives and achievements in the field of sustainable development

Edited by: Екатерина С.

Spanish fashion retailer Mango has made significant strides in its sustainability journey, aligning with its 'Sustainable Vision 2030' strategy. The company has integrated Circulose® fibers into its supply chain, a recycled cellulose fiber derived from textile waste. This collaboration is a pivotal step in its commitment to sustainable fashion.

Mango has achieved 100% sustainable cotton usage, 100% recycled polyester, and 100% traceable and controlled origin for its cellulosic fibers by 2025. These achievements reflect Mango's dedication to reducing its environmental footprint and promoting transparency in its supply chain.

In 2024, Mango joined forces with Gap, H&M, and BESTSELLER to launch the Future Supplier Initiative. This financial model aims at decarbonizing the fashion sector. Mango aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with interim targets to reduce direct Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 80% and Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030.
