Mango Integrates Regenerative Cotton into 2025 Collection, Deepening Sustainability Commitment

Edited by: Екатерина С.

Mango is significantly advancing its commitment to environmental responsibility by integrating regenerative cotton into its 2025 product line. This pivotal step is the result of a strategic partnership with Materra, a company at the forefront of developing solutions for regenerative agriculture. The newly launched collection prominently features apparel, including essential T-shirts and durable denim, crafted with a minimum of 50% Materra Regenerative Cotton.

This initiative is a key component of Mango's overarching sustainability strategy, "Sustainable Vision 2030," which sets an ambitious target of utilizing 100% sustainable fibers by the year 2030. Regenerative agriculture practices represent a paradigm shift from conventional cotton cultivation, which is known for its heavy reliance on synthetic chemicals, significant water consumption, and potential for soil degradation. Conventional cotton farming accounts for a substantial portion of global pesticide use, contributing to soil and water contamination. In contrast, regenerative agriculture focuses on rebuilding soil health, enhancing biodiversity, and improving water retention. Materra's approach emphasizes soil health, recognizing that well-structured soil can absorb and retain more water, making crops more drought-resistant.

Mango's collaboration with Materra also ensures complete traceability of its cotton value chain, from the seed to the final garment. This is facilitated through Materra's digital platform, Co:Farm, where farmers in India collect vital soil and crop data. This data provides transparency, allowing Mango to monitor key indicators like soil fertility, nutrient levels, and water usage. The adoption of regenerative cotton by Mango underscores a deeper commitment to minimizing its ecological footprint and fostering a more responsible fashion industry. By embracing practices that heal the land, regenerate ecosystems, and support farming communities, Mango is enhancing the quality and sustainability of its products and contributing to a more resilient and ethical future for fashion. Regenerative agriculture is recognized for its potential to sequester carbon, improve soil health, and increase biodiversity, offering a holistic approach to environmental stewardship.
