In the heart of the Amazon, 44 Huni Kuin master artisans, representing the largest indigenous population in Acre, have initiated a project blending ancestral knowledge with original fashion and female empowerment.
Located in the Novo Natal village, Acre, these women and their apprentices will participate in an immersive gathering to deepen their understanding of traditional techniques.
Workshops on weaving, natural dyeing, and tailoring will be conducted, emphasizing practices that sustain many families in the region. Approximately 150 indigenous individuals will be involved.
This training is part of the "House of Culture, Arts, and Ancestral Knowledge Project," which includes a fashion show and exhibition of produced pieces in a subsequent phase. The initiative is conceived by the Ainbu Dayá Institute and the CASA collective, in partnership with the Igapó Network, and sponsored by the Energisa Group through the Rouanet Law.
