The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx is showcasing the natural beauty that inspired Vincent van Gogh. The exhibition, titled 'Van Gogh's Flowers,' features sunflowers, a favorite subject of the Dutch painter.
Running until October 26, the exhibition allows visitors to experience Van Gogh's paintings in a new way. The garden transforms into a living masterpiece, reflecting the artist's obsession with nature.
The exhibition includes contemporary interpretations of Van Gogh's works. French artist Cyril Lancelin has created a sunflower field with both real and sculpted flowers. The gardens of the Arles hospital, where Van Gogh was treated in 1888, have also been recreated.
A highlight of the exhibition is 'Starry Nights,' inspired by 'The Starry Night.' On select Fridays and Saturdays through September, drones will recreate the painting's magic in the air. The CEO of the Botanical Garden, Jennifer Bernstein, notes that the exhibition brings Van Gogh's famous paintings to life through the plants that inspired him.
