Felice Casorati's Retrospective Exhibition Opens at Palazzo Reale in Milan, Showcasing a Century of Italian Art

15:39, 14 February

Edited by: Irena I

Palazzo Reale in Milan is hosting a major retrospective of Felice Casorati's work, opening on February 15, 2025, and running through June 29, 2025. This exhibition, curated by Francesco Poli, Giorgina Bertolino, and Fernando Mazzocca in collaboration with the Archivio Casorati, marks a significant return for the artist to Palazzo Reale after 35 years, offering a comprehensive view of his artistic journey.

The exhibition features approximately 100 works, meticulously selected to represent the crucial phases of Casorati's career. These include his pre-World War I period, the 1920s when he rose to prominence within the Italian Novecento movement, and the extensive period from the 1930s to the early 1950s, marked by a notable shift in his painting style.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view masterpieces such as 'Silvana Cenni', 'Meriggio', and 'Le Signorine', along with later works like the portrait of his wife, 'Daphne a Pavarolo', and 'Le sorelle Pontorno'. This retrospective allows both the public and art enthusiasts to explore the evolution and nuances of Casorati's painting by experiencing his works firsthand.
