07:08, 26 September

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the 'Narratives of Belonging' exhibition on September 26, 2024, at Al Safa Art & Design Library in Dubai. This exhibition showcases the creativity of 23 Emirati artists, celebrating both emerging and established talents while highlighting their diverse experiences.

The exhibition emphasizes the importance of Emirati art, which is deeply rooted in a rich intellectual and cultural heritage. It aims to foster a sustainable artistic environment that supports Dubai's cultural and creative industries. Her Highness commended the innovative visions of the participating artists, noting that their work significantly enriches the local cultural landscape.

Featured artists include Dr. Najat Makki, Nujoom Al Ghanem, and the late Hassan Sharif, among others. Their artworks explore themes of belonging, storytelling, and cultural heritage, offering vivid interpretations of innovation. For instance, Roudha Al Mazrouei documents the lives of Siji residents, while Salmah Al Mansoori captures her hometown through her paintings.

Additionally, Aisha Al Hammadi's work reflects emotional connections to maritime heritage, and Maryam Bin Bishr portrays the transformation of traditional spaces.
