Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in Indonesia has erupted, spewing a massive ash cloud that reached 11.7 kilometers into the atmosphere. The eruption prompted authorities to issue the highest alert level, warning of potential lahars in rivers originating from the volcano. A mushroom-shaped cloud was visible from cities up to 145 kilometers away. The danger zone around the crater has been extended to approximately eight kilometers due to the significant volcanic activity. There have been no reported casualties. The volcano last erupted in May. Previous eruptions have caused fatalities and disrupted air travel, including one in November that resulted in multiple deaths.
