An EF-1 tornado struck Irving, Texas, on Tuesday, causing significant damage to buildings and displacing numerous families. The National Weather Service reported peak winds of 110 mph and a path nearly half a mile long.
The Tree County Apartments and De Zavala Middle School sustained heavy damage. Approximately 85 families were affected. The tornado was part of a larger winter storm system that impacted much of the country, causing power outages and fatalities in other states.
