Edited by: Anna 🌎 Krasko

On March 2, 2025, flash floods struck the Puncak area of West Bogor, Indonesia, triggered by heavy to extreme rainfall. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) attributed the event to a Meso Scale Convective Complex (MCS), a system of organized convective cells. Satellite imagery indicated the presence of an MCC, a type of MCS known to intensify rainfall, since 15:40 WIB.

BMKG had issued early warnings about potential heavy rainfall in Bogor through its weekly weather forecast and shorter-term alerts. Rainfall in the Bogor area was classified as "extreme," exceeding 150 mm/day. The floods caused bridge collapses and resulted in one fatality. Jakarta also experienced flooding due to the extreme rainfall.
