Neurosurgeon From Varginha Breaks Silence on Encounter with Extraterrestrial Being

Nearly three decades after the Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) incident in Varginha in January 1996, neurosurgeon Italo Denelle Venturelli has publicly disclosed a direct contact experience with an extraterrestrial entity. Dr. Venturelli, who boasts nearly five decades of medical practice and previously managed three hospitals in Varginha, revealed that he viewed surgical footage performed on a "strange creature" and had a personal visual encounter with the being inside a city hospital located in the southern region of Minas Gerais state.

Eyewitness testimony from the regional hospital's chief neurosurgeon, Dr. Italo Venturelli, who claims that he had the opportunity to communicate face to face with an alien.

The doctor explained his long-held silence by citing fears of professional censure and stigmatization within the conservative provincial medical community. Dr. Venturelli’s testimony, which he began releasing in 2025, has become the focal point of renewed interest in the case following the debut of a documentary in January 2026. According to the physician, a late colleague, Marcos Vinicius, summoned him to witness something decidedly "different" from the norm. Venturelli asserts he was shown video footage appearing to show a child receiving stitches, only to look toward an adjacent bed and observe what he describes as an "alien."

Dr. Venturelli detailed the being's appearance, describing it as pale, possessing a teardrop-shaped skull, a small mouth, and lilac, tear-shaped eyes. He noted that the creature seemed calm and aware, bearing a resemblance to an "angel." This encounter, the neurosurgeon stated, lasted only a few minutes, during which the entity gazed at him and out the window. The colleague, Dr. Vinicius, reportedly provided conflicting accounts of the procedure: initially mentioning a valve implantation, then only the suturing of a wound. Crucially, this colleague possessed the video cassette documenting the entire procedure.

Researcher Edison Boaventura Junior views Venturelli's statements as a watershed moment in the Varginha affair, primarily because the doctor claims to have had physical proximity to the being. In light of these revelations, filmmaker James Fox, known for the documentary "Moment of Contact," scheduled a press conference in Washington, D.C., for January 20, 2026. At this event, Venturelli and other witnesses were slated to testify, with American experts reportedly requesting immunity for the informants. Fox had previously categorized the Varginha case as the "most compelling in modern history involving the recovery of UFO wreckage, including live non-human entities, and alleged involvement by the U.S. Air Force."

This testimony reopens a debate that has simmered since 1996, when initial reports from three young women describing a creature with oily brown skin and large red eyes first captured public attention. The official stance from Brazilian authorities remains steadfast: the Military Police investigation concluded that no creature capture or unidentified object crash occurred, and the Brazilian Air Force has consistently denied any secret operation. Nevertheless, new specifics emerging from a highly qualified professional lend significant weight to these claims, even though confirmed information regarding the video cassette's current whereabouts is missing.

Venturelli expressed strong conviction that the procedure video could eventually be made public, remarking, "If people see that tape, they will go crazy." As part of the ongoing media coverage, the television network TV Globo released the documentary series "O Mistério de Varginha" (The Mystery of Varginha) in January 2026, re-examining the context of the 1996 events.
