Haryana's Green Vision: Cultivating a Sustainable Future

10:41, 29 July

Edited by: Anulyazolotko Anulyazolotko

Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recently led the 76th Van Mahotsav in Kalesar, Yamunanagar, reaffirming the state's commitment to environmental preservation. The event underscored the importance of ecological balance and community engagement in fostering a sustainable future.

The state has set an ambitious target to plant a significant number of saplings this year, building upon the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign initiated in 2024. This initiative aims to deepen the connection between communities and nature by encouraging individuals to plant trees in honor of their mothers, symbolizing gratitude and responsibility toward the environment.

Beyond afforestation, the government is actively developing the Kalka to Kalesar stretch into a major eco-tourism hub. This project recognizes the area's rich biodiversity and seeks to create sustainable economic opportunities that harmonize with the natural environment. Additionally, the state is enhancing forest and wildlife protection by implementing increased patrols and anti-poaching measures to safeguard its natural heritage.

Since 2014, Haryana has been proactive in its environmental efforts, planting a substantial number of saplings and employing innovative monitoring techniques to ensure their growth and survival. The Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme provides financial support for the preservation of heritage trees, acknowledging their significance to the ecosystem and cultural identity.

The Van Mahotsav serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the enduring benefits of a greener future. It emphasizes that nurturing the environment is an investment in the well-being of all, highlighting the state's dedication to sustainable development and ecological conservation.
