El Cabildo de Gran Canaria has initiated a landscape and environmental regeneration project in the Scientific Interest Site (SIC) of Tufia.
The aim is to improve the Special Conservation Zone (ZEC) and its surroundings, focusing on ecological restoration and protection of natural heritage.
The project, with an investment of over 500,000 euros, includes waste removal, path organization, and the planting of local flora.
Actions include the removal of waste, the delimitation of protected areas with wooden posts and stone boulders, and the regulation of access to protect the natural environment.
The project also involves the improvement of existing signage and the repair of fencing to protect endemic plant species, ensuring their conservation within the ecosystem.
