Belarus has launched a large-scale ecological campaign called 'Blue-eyed Belarus' to preserve its natural heritage, focusing on the country's picturesque lakes and rivers. The campaign, which runs until April 26th, is a collaborative effort by governmental bodies and public associations.

Regions across Belarus are actively participating in the initiative by cleaning up the shores and banks of various water bodies. For example, Vitebsk Oblast is tidying up the shores of lakes Polonskoe, Ostrovenskoe, Dvornoe, Beloe, Lesnoe, Kuzmino, Rossono and Chernoe and the banks of rivers Zapadnaya Dvina and Disna. Similarly, Minsk Oblast is cleaning up the shores of lakes Lesnoe, Vechera and Navranskoe and the banks of river Berezina, Soligorsk water reservoir, Izobelino quarry and Uzda reservoir.

The 'Blue-eyed Belarus' campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting nature from pollution and its harmful effects on flora and fauna. By cleaning up public water bodies, the initiative seeks to preserve Belarus's unique natural environment, characterized by clear lakes, meandering rivers, and extensive forests. Everyone can support the action by contacting their local authorities.
