The National Parks Board (NParks) is investigating the death of a cat found in Yishun, Singapore. The cat was discovered with its legs stretched out in an unusual manner. NParks is urging the public to avoid speculation while they investigate.
The incident was reported by the Facebook group Sayang Our Singapore's Community Cats. They shared photos of the dead cat found on a Housing and Development Board (HDB) stairway landing near Block 510A in Yishun. A 24-hour hotline was called, but no help was provided.
This incident occurred near where another cat was found dead with serious injuries. This is the latest in a series of similar events in Yishun and Punggol. Last month, Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam addressed a case of a tortured cat in Yishun Street 51.
Another cat was found injured in Punggol, but NParks believes its injuries were likely from a car accident. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) reports that animal cruelty cases in Singapore are reaching a 13-year high.
