The Aotearoa Music Awards are celebrating 60 years of honoring Kiwi artists and their musical achievements. This milestone anniversary highlights six decades of memorable moments in New Zealand's music history. The awards will be held on May 29, 2025, at the Viaduct Events Centre in Tāmaki Makaurau.
The inaugural Loxene Golden Disc, the precursor to the Aotearoa Music Awards, was presented in 1965. The 2025 finalists showcase the breadth and depth of musical talent in Aotearoa.
Stan Walker and CHAII lead the nominations with five each. Walker's nominations include Single of the Year for "Māori Ki Te Ao," while CHAII is nominated for Album of the Year for "Safar" and Single of the Year for "We Be Killing It". The ceremony will be live-streamed on RNZ and available on TVNZ+.
