Amazon Retrains Warehouse Workers for Aerospace Careers in Washington State

Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Amazon is retraining its warehouse employees for careers in satellite technology, contributing to the expansion of Washington state's aerospace sector.

Through its Career Choice education program, Amazon offers tuition coverage for employees in high-demand fields. This initiative supports Project Kuiper, Amazon's plan to deploy over 3,200 low-Earth orbit satellites.

The first batch of 27 satellites was launched on April 28, 2025. This is a significant step in competing with SpaceX's Starlink network. Amazon's efforts align with Washington's emergence as a key player in the commercial space industry.
