Tech Giants Embrace AI, Announce Workforce Adjustments

Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Many companies are integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) to boost efficiency and cut costs. Salesforce, Amazon, and Microsoft are among those making significant changes.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff reported that 30% to 50% of the company's tasks are already handled by AI. Salesforce announced a reduction of 1,000 employees earlier this year. Simultaneously, they plan to hire 1,000 new employees specializing in their AI agent technology, Agentforce, to provide AI solutions to other companies.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy indicated that AI will likely reduce the corporate workforce in the coming years. AI is expected to automate tasks in logistics and customer service. Amazon has invested approximately $4 billion in the AI startup Anthropic and is integrating its AI software, Claude, into its products.

Microsoft is increasing its AI investments and is undergoing its second round of layoffs by June 30, 2025. This is part of a broader strategy to optimize its workforce. The tech industry has seen over 63,000 layoffs in 2024, reflecting the impact of AI on the job market.
