McLaren Racing is set to make history by auctioning three of its cutting-edge competition vehicles before they have officially competed. The groundbreaking event, scheduled for December 5, 2025, during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend in partnership with RM Sotheby's, offers enthusiasts a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of motorsport's future.

The auction will feature a 2026 McLaren Formula 1 car, an Arrow McLaren IndyCar, and McLaren's inaugural LMDh Hypercar for the World Endurance Championship (WEC). These vehicles represent McLaren's renewed commitment to major racing series and their pursuit of iconic victories, including a drive to reclaim the prestigious Triple Crown of Motorsport. McLaren CEO Zak Brown described the event as an "extraordinary opportunity to own a piece of racing history," noting that successful bidders will receive unprecedented VIP access to the team and its operations. The 2026 F1 car is expected to be designated the MCL40 and will be the first for a new era of Formula 1 regulations. Bidders will receive a 2025 show car on lease while awaiting delivery of the F1 car in 2028. The IndyCar and WEC machines will be delivered after their respective racing seasons conclude. This initiative underscores McLaren's strategic expansion into various motorsport disciplines, including their confirmed entry into the WEC's Hypercar class for the 2027 season, following their decision to withdraw from Formula E.
