Christie's to Auction Limited Edition JAY-Z Book

Edited by: alya myart

Christie's is preparing to auction a special, signed, limited edition of 'The Book of HOV: A Tribute to JAY-Z'. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will support the Brooklyn Public Library. The exclusive edition, a collaboration with Roc Nation, Assouline, and artist Daniel Arsham, is estimated to fetch between $100,000 and $150,000.

The book is encased in a white-bronze clamshell designed by Arsham. It weighs 35 pounds and measures 15 x 18 x 4 inches. Inside, the book is bound in custom 'JAY-Z blue' leather with a silver-foil stamped tri-fold cover. This edition commemorates the immersive exhibition held at the Brooklyn Public Library in 2023, which drew over 600,000 visitors.

The auction will take place online from July 7 to July 22, 2025. It is part of a contemporary editions sale featuring works from artists like Nina Chanel Abney and Keith Haring. Elizabeth Siegel, Christie's head of private and iconic collections, highlighted the collaboration's significance. The sale offers a chance to own a piece of JAY-Z's legacy and support the library's arts and culture initiatives.
