MOVISAT, a tech solutions company, showcased its innovative EcoTurismo tool at the Digital Tourist 2025 event in Benidorm on June 5th and 6th, 2025. The event, organized by AMETIC, focused on how technology can transform tourism destinations, creating economic, social, and environmental value.
EcoTurismo is designed for smart tourism destinations, providing real-time information on urban cleaning, beach maintenance, and waste collection. This tool helps monitor and optimize environmental management, improving operational efficiency and transparency for both citizens and visitors.
Herick Campos from MOVISAT presented successful case studies of EcoTurismo during a workshop. He highlighted how the solution facilitates citizen participation and transparency, allowing destinations to access data for key indicators and evidence-based decision-making.
MOVISAT also encouraged tourism destinations to integrate digital transformation projects using waste and cleaning modules, leveraging funding from Next Generation EU and EDIL programs. These resources aim to strengthen Smart Destination Platforms, promoting sustainable innovation in municipalities.
