PetKit Unveils Yumshare Daily Feast: A Smart Wet Food Dispenser at CES 2026
Edited by: Katerina S.
PetKit, a company renowned for its innovative smart pet products, made a significant announcement at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. They introduced the Yumshare Daily Feast, a robotic dispenser specifically engineered for wet pet food. This introduction marks a notable technological leap, as the vast majority of existing automated feeders are designed exclusively for dry kibble. PetKit is positioning this launch as a cornerstone of its broader 'AI Ecosystem for Daily Pet Care' strategy, shifting the emphasis from mere automation to advanced health analytics.
Handling wet food presents unique challenges, primarily centered on maintaining freshness and ensuring precise portion control. This is crucial because wet food is vital for managing and preventing kidney and urinary tract issues in pets. Unlike dry pellets, which contain only about 8–10% moisture, wet food boasts a moisture content of 75–78%, making it highly perishable. The Yumshare Daily Feast addresses this directly by enabling the storage and dispensing of wet food portions over a seven-day period. Furthermore, the device incorporates NFC technology to meticulously track consumption events.
To safeguard against spoilage and potential illness, the system employs an automated removal process. If a serving of food remains untouched for a predetermined duration, the unit automatically discards it, effectively mitigating the risk of bacterial contamination. This proactive approach to food safety sets a new benchmark for automated feeding solutions.
Hygiene and intelligent monitoring form the core pillars of the dispenser’s design philosophy. To guarantee cleanliness in the dispensing area before every meal delivery, the system activates a built-in UVC sterilization cycle, significantly reducing the bacterial load on contact surfaces. Sophisticated functionality is powered by an integrated, full-color camera equipped with 140-degree night vision capabilities.
The integrated artificial intelligence is capable of facial recognition across multiple pets within the household. This allows the system to accurately log precisely which animal consumed how much food. This granular data is compiled into comprehensive reports detailing dietary habits, which owners can access via the dedicated PetKit mobile application. These reports are invaluable, potentially serving as an early warning system for subtle shifts in a pet's health status.
PetKit is exploring an unconventional business approach for the Yumshare Daily Feast. Rather than selling the hardware outright, the device will be offered as a platform to established wet food brands. These brands will have the autonomy to set the final price of the dispenser when bundled directly with their proprietary food products. This model underscores a growing industry trend where hardware becomes a strategic tool used by suppliers to cultivate stronger customer loyalty.
The commercial rollout for this advanced feeding system is currently slated for April 2026.
