The National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., will host MOMENTUM PARK(OUR), an immersive parkour installation, from July 3 to July 20, 2025. This event, a collaboration with parkour pioneer Mark Toorock and American Parkour (APK), transforms the Museum's West Court into a dynamic training course.
The installation spans over 7,000 square feet and features four obstacle areas designed for different age groups and skill levels. These areas are constructed primarily from wood, with some elements made from plastic, metal, and rubber to mimic urban environments. Each area includes safety measures.
Interactive stations will explore the forces of motion with hourly demonstrations. Workshops for children and special events, like "Sip & Flip" for adults, will also be available. Amazon is the Presenting Sponsor, highlighting the event's focus on innovation and community engagement.
This initiative aims to enhance physical and mental awareness. The event is a part of the National Building Museum's mission to explore the built environment. Mark Toorock and American Parkour are key figures in promoting parkour through training and curriculum development.
