Apple is set to enhance Siri with a new AI-driven model, termed 'LLM Siri,' expected to launch in 2026. This upgrade aims to enable more human-like interactions and complex conversations, similar to existing AI assistants like Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Currently, Siri's capabilities lag behind competitors, which already offer advanced features. Apple plans to integrate third-party language models, including ChatGPT, to improve Siri's functionality.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has launched the public preview of Windows Recall, a feature allowing users to revisit their screen activity using AI-driven search tools. This tool is currently available for Windows Insider Dev Channel participants on Qualcomm-powered devices.
Windows Recall incorporates privacy safeguards, such as biometric authentication and encryption, addressing previous concerns about data security. Users can search their past activities using natural language queries, enhancing productivity while maintaining privacy.
As both companies strive to enhance their AI offerings, the competition remains fierce, with Google and other companies also pushing innovative features.
