DeepOcean Secures Record Contract for Innovative Subsea Operations with Equinor

In a groundbreaking development, DeepOcean has secured its largest contract to date, a long-term subsea inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) contract with Equinor. This eight-year agreement, covering the period from 2027 to 2035, will revolutionize digital and environmentally friendly IMR operations in the Norwegian continental shelf and Europe.

The contract will leverage a team of specialized subsea engineers and a new vessel, Rem Ocean, which features dual-fuel engines capable of running on bio-methanol and biodiesel. This vessel is equipped with advanced technology, including an Autonomous Inspection Drone (AID), which will expedite the digitalization of subsea asset inspections.

Rem Ocean is designed to significantly reduce emissions—projected at a 90% decrease when using bio-methanol and a 30% reduction with conventional fuels compared to existing IMR vessels. With a capacity to accommodate 120 personnel and a suite of cutting-edge tools, this contract marks a significant milestone for DeepOcean, paving the way for future advancements in subsea services.
