A Google spokesperson stated that the tool is built on the LearnLM AI model, which was specifically fine-tuned for educational purposes. This model, released in May 2024, aims to create personalized lessons tailored to individual learning styles.
While the tool can assist with practical tasks, such as composing a work email, it maintains a unique interactive format that includes sample emails and educational resources on best practices, rather than providing a simple draft.
However, it lacks the ability to save conversations for later reference, a feature available in other Google AI tools like Gemini.
