Israeli Foreign Minister Calls for Urgent UN Session on Houthi Attacks

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has requested an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council to condemn Houthi attacks and their ongoing support from Iran. Sa'ar stated that 'the Houthis continue to attack Israel, threaten freedom of navigation and trade, and pose a threat to the region and the entire world.'

He characterized the Houthi actions as a serious violation of international law and Security Council resolutions, constituting a threat to international peace and security. Sa'ar emphasized that 'the Houthis pose a threat not only to Israel but also to the region and the entire world,' adding that the foremost action needed is to designate them as a terrorist organization.

Currently, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the UAE, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Israel classify the Houthis as a terrorist organization.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Houthis announced the launch of a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting an Israeli site in the occupied Jaffa area of Tel Aviv, marking their seventh operation in the occupied territories since last Thursday. According to Israeli broadcasting authorities, millions of people rushed to shelters for the third time in a week due to Houthi missiles.
