Elon Musk Responds to Trump's Executive Order on Government Efficiency

Hours after Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States, Elon Musk took to his social platform X to comment on a new executive order. The order terminated federal diversity, equity, and inclusion mandates (DEI).

Musk's post included a screenshot of a non-functional website for the office aimed at ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. He referenced the executive order establishing the Department of Government Efficiency, which aims to modernize federal technology and enhance productivity.

Trump's order rebranded the US Digital Service as the US DOGE Service, allowing Musk's group to recruit outside volunteer experts. The DOGE will operate from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, with an office for approximately 20 new hires.

Each federal agency will form DOGE teams of at least four individuals to implement the program. However, the executive order implied a more limited scope than Musk had anticipated, focusing solely on government efficiency without mentioning budget cuts or deregulation.

Musk's email is now part of the Executive Office of the President, as confirmed by a source familiar with the situation.
