Syria Accuses Israel of Destabilization at the UN
Syria has accused Israel of destabilizing actions and obstructing peace efforts at the United Nations. Ambassador Qusay Al-Dahhak warned of the serious challenges facing Syria and called for international condemnation of Israeli aggression.
Al-Dahhak urged Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, including the Golan Heights, in compliance with UN resolutions. He also addressed the recent violence in Sweida province, accusing Israel of exploiting these events to justify hostile actions against Syria's sovereignty.
Iran has also voiced concerns about the situation in Syria. Ambassador Saeed Iravani warned against schemes to detach Syria's southern governorates, calling such actions violations of international law. Iravani affirmed Iran's commitment to Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has called for investigations into violations and stressed the need for accountability. He also urged an immediate end to violence and the protection of civilians.
These accusations and concerns highlight the ongoing tensions and challenges facing Syria as it navigates a complex political landscape.
