JSW Energy Signs 700 MW Solar PPA

New Delhi, India, October 14, 2024: JSW Renew Energy Thirteen Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited for a solar capacity of 700 MW.

The project will connect to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and State Transmission Utility (STU) networks, supplying power at a tariff of Rs 2.59 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for 25 years. It is expected to be commissioned by June 2026.

JSW Energy's solar pipeline capacity now totals 3.2 GW, with 2.0 GW already under PPA. This agreement supports the company’s strategy to enhance its renewable energy contributions in India.

The total generation capacity of JSW Energy stands at 18.2 GW, including 7.7 GW operational and 2.1 GW in ongoing projects across various segments. The company is also developing a renewable energy pipeline of 8.3 GW and aims for a total generation capacity of 20 GW and energy storage capacity of 40 GWh by 2030.

JSW Energy's clean energy strategy includes a storage capacity of 16.2 GWh through battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects, with a long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
