The 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF) induction class showcases a wide range of exceptional talent, including The Doobie Brothers, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, and George Clinton. This annual event honors both performing and non-performing songwriters whose work has significantly shaped the music industry. To be eligible, nominees must have had their first notable song commercially released at least 20 years ago.

Performing and Non-Performing Songwriters Honored

This year’s Performing Songwriters category features prominent artists such as:

  • Janet Jackson

  • Eminem

  • Sheryl Crow

In the Non-Performing Songwriters category, celebrated names include:

  • Ashley Gorley, known for penning countless country hits

  • Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, a prolific producer and songwriter behind numerous chart-topping pop and R&B tracks

Continuing the Legacy of Songwriters

The Songwriters Hall of Fame not only celebrates iconic songwriters but also preserves their legacy through various initiatives. Nile Rodgers, a 2016 inductee and renowned artist in his own right, was recently re-elected for a third term as chairman. Rodgers' career spans collaborations with legendary artists and a steadfast commitment to highlighting the critical role of songwriters in the music industry.

The 2025 SHOF induction ceremony will take place on June 12, 2025, at the New York Marriott Marquis. The evening will honor the new inductees for their remarkable contributions to music, solidifying their place in the history of songwriting.

🌟 With an incredible lineup of honorees, this year’s Songwriters Hall of Fame induction promises to celebrate the artistry and influence of the creators behind some of the world’s most beloved songs.
