A$AP Rocky Acquitted in Assault Case; Rihanna Celebrates Verdict

A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty on two felony assault charges, concluding a legal battle that began in 2021. The rapper walked out of a Los Angeles courtroom a free man on Tuesday, February 18, after a jury sided with the defense's argument that the weapon in question was a prop gun. His girlfriend, Rihanna, celebrated the verdict immediately, posting on Instagram, "THE GLORY BELONGS TO GOD AND GOD ALONE! THANKFUL, HUMBLED BY HIS MERCY!" A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Maybers, was accused of firing a gun at A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron) during a dispute in Hollywood. After the verdict, A$AP Rocky thanked the jurors, saying, "Thank y'all for saving my life. Thank y'all for making the right decision." He later added in a press conference, "God first, you gotta thank God first... This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years, but I'm thankful, nonetheless." He also posted "DON'T BE DUMB" on X (formerly Twitter), seemingly referencing the trial and his upcoming album. Rihanna attended the trial with their children. The couple celebrated with dinner in Beverly Hills.
