Canada Establishes UAP Office to Engage Youth in Science and Technology

In July 2025, the Canadian government announced the establishment of a dedicated office to manage Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) reports. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and scientific research on UAPs while providing opportunities for youth engagement in science and technology fields.

The new office is expected to operate under the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), serving as a central hub for collecting and analyzing UAP reports from the public, aviation professionals, and military personnel. This centralized approach is designed to create a rich dataset for scientific research projects, particularly those involving students and emerging researchers.

To encourage youth participation, the government plans to collaborate with educational institutions and youth organizations to organize competitions, workshops, and summer camps focused on UAP research. These activities aim to foster interest in science and technology among young Canadians and help them develop critical skills such as data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Additionally, the development of a bilingual reporting application is underway to encourage aviation personnel to report UAP sightings without fear of ridicule. The user-friendly interface of this application is designed to appeal to younger users, integrating gamification elements to make the reporting process more engaging.

By establishing this UAP office, Canada seeks to inspire the next generation of scientists and technologists, building a skilled and passionate workforce ready to tackle future challenges.
