LAS VEGAS - Amazon Ads introduced a new SQL generator for its Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) at CES 2025. This artificial intelligence tool allows advertisers to create SQL queries using natural language, streamlining the process of generating insights from advertising data.
The SQL generator aims to simplify audience targeting across streaming TV, audio, and digital channels. Amazon, valued at $2.33 trillion, reported a revenue growth of approximately 12% over the past year, totaling $620 billion.
Advertisers can input requests such as, 'Create an audience of customers who have viewed our product pages and seen my streaming TV ads but haven't purchased in the last 30 days.' The AI generates the corresponding SQL code, significantly reducing query development time.
Paula Despins, vice president of ads measurement at Amazon Ads, noted the tool's benefits in leveraging data for comprehensive advertising strategies. The SQL generator will be available to all AMC customers in early 2025.
In related news, Amazon Web Services (AWS) plans to invest approximately $11 billion in Georgia to expand its infrastructure. AWS has also partnered with Honda Motor Company to develop software-defined vehicles, utilizing AWS's Digital Proving Ground platform.
Additionally, Anthropic, an AI startup backed by Amazon, is negotiating to raise $2 billion, potentially increasing its valuation to $60 billion. Loop Capital reaffirmed a Buy rating for Amazon, citing strong demand in AWS and retail operations.
