Apple Delays MacBook Air OLED Upgrade

Apple's anticipated MacBook Air upgrade to OLED displays is facing significant delays due to high manufacturing costs. Initially expected to launch in 2027, the company is struggling to maintain affordability for its popular laptop line.

Currently, the MacBook Air utilizes Liquid Retina LCD technology, which is becoming outdated compared to the OLED displays used in the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. Apple is actively seeking cost-effective OLED solutions and is collaborating with Samsung Display to develop a 13.3-inch OLED panel.

Despite these challenges, Apple recently updated its MacBook Air lineup with M3 processors and introduced a 15-inch variant. The company also announced M4 processor upgrades for other Mac models, while plans for a significant MacBook Pro redesign are set for 2026.
