Mariah Carey's Christmas Hit Breaks Records in Billboard Charts

Mariah Carey's iconic Christmas song, "All I Want for Christmas Is You," continues to dominate the music scene, breaking records on the Billboard charts.

For the 17th time, the holiday classic has claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, making Carey the artist with the longest-running number one single in the chart's history. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Boyz II Men, who spent 16 weeks at the top with "One Sweet Day" from 1995 to 1996.

This year, the song has topped the Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks, positioning it as the third longest-running number one in the 66-year history of the chart. It follows the record-breaking 19 weeks at the top by Shabuzis with "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" earlier this year, and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus's "Old Town Road," which held the top position in 2019.

Originally released in November 1994, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" made its debut in the top ten of the Hot 100 for the first time in December 2017, solidifying its status as a perennial holiday favorite.
